Pepsi Ad Response

I think this commercial was bad advertising. I believe it was done to appeal to a millennial audience by putting in a recognizable celebrity like Kendal Jenner but overall the way it turned out just missed the mark completely. I feel they could have added in celebrities to this commercial without making it become such a miss. By having a wealthy white model be the one that took the lead in the protest at the end and her being the focus it took away from the impact the commercial could have had. Now overall having the ending be anyone offering a police officer a pepsi and having that be the thing that brought everyone together is a stupid concept but it could have been made a little bit better if they didn't use a model as the focus.

Diary Entry 2

Dear Diary, (3/16/21)
Today was the day. Ben and I have finally gotten to New York and moved in to our new apartment. It is small but it is everything I have ever wanted. When you walk in it has kind of an industrial look with exposed brick and a big window in the living room. Our furniture hasn't come yet so we have an upside down cardboard box as a table and we have to lay out our pillows and blankets to use as a bed. Our furniture should be here tomorrow so that we can finish unpacking.
Little Clyde was so happy when we let him out of his crate to explore his new home. He loves all the sun that comes in from the front window. I think he is going to like it since we have more open space here for him to run around than we did in Philadelphia.
For dinner we got Chinese food and sat at a cardboard box on the floor, we lit a candle and desperately tried to keep Clyde away from it so our new home didn't go up in flames. It doesn't sound like much but it was perfect too me. When I was sitting there in my pajamas eating our food that's when I realized how much I love Ben. We are one little happy family right now and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Diary Entry 1

Dear Diary, (5/25/20)
Today was a very exciting day for Ben and I. We were sitting on our balcony drinking our morning coffee and talking. Out of no where we heard a what sounded like a cat. We didn't think much of it at first, thinking it probably belonged to the neighbor, but the meowing got louder. It sounded almost like it was outside. We live in Philadelphia, in the city, what person in their right mind would let their cat outside in the city??? So we put on our shoes and walked downstairs and out to the street to look around and see where this sound was coming from. We walked around the corner of the building over towards the dumpsters and we heard more meowing. We looked around and couldn't find anything. Then I heard one more meow, I turned around and looked in a box. From the dark shadow inside I saw these two big bright green eyes and saw a small pink nose. It was a cat!!!! I know "No shit Rebecca its a cat, what else meows" but I was excited ok. I reached in and picked up the little guy. He was all dirty and really skinny. Ben thought I was insane for touching a wild cat in the middle of Philadelphia but I love animals too much to let this poor little guy suffer. I carried him upstairs and I put him in the bathroom and closed the door. I immediately called the vet to make this poor little guy an appointment for that day. After that I went in the bathroom with some shampoo, baby wipes, a towel, a bowel of tuna fish (which did belong to ben, I don't know how he eats this stuff), and a little dish of water. Before trying to clean him up I let him eat some food since he looked starving and drink some water. After his little belly was full I got to work on cleaning him up. I have done this many times before since I have rescued all of my cats that I have ever owned, but even though I told this to Ben he was still concerned and thought the cat would try and hurt me. He was actually really lovey. He kept purring and brushing up against me and it wasn't very hard to get him all cleaned up. His fur went from a blotchy black and gray to a clean beautiful dusty gray color. I picked him up and gave him a little hug and he gave me a little meow. I decided to name him Clyde. When I brought him out of the bathroom Ben looked at him skeptically and went to pet the little guy. he reached out his hand an Clyde smacked it away and started purring. He was a little mommas boy. I took him into the vet and got him all of his vaccines and we got him some medicines since he had flees. Afterwards Ben and I walked over to the pet store to get him some toys and food. He is now the newest member of our family and I am so excited!!!! :D

5 year plan

In five years I plan to be closer to my dreams. I will be living in a small apartment that I will share with my fiancé in Brooklyn, New York. It will be small but it is part of my dream. We will have a chubby cat named Clyde. I will have completed my bachelor's here at Tyler in Art Education and I will be working as a painting teacher in a local high school. My fiancé and I will be planning a trip to  go to Spain for the summer since we both want to continue our growth in speaking Spanish. It will be a dream come true to be going to Spain for a summer to learn more Spanish.

Fonts & How to Ruin a Great Design

These articles both talk about how fonts/ typefaces are important in everyday life. They discuss how it is a science and an art form to pick the right one. I never really thought about the idea of fonts before other than the idea of handwriting versus typing something. So I guess this article shed light on something in art that I never really took time to think about. I feel it is something that is commonly over looked amongst most people.

5. Love these combinations!

Honestly, I think that alternative facts are bullshit. Its just a fancy word for lies. Like every politician Trump has a way of dancing around simple questions without answering them. Changing the word for lies doesnt change the fact the he is an asshole and I still do not respect him.

"My So Called Opinion"

Honestly this article almost put me to sleep. This was a millennial talking about the "problems" with millennials today. It seems like he thinks that millennials are too "politically correct" and he see's that as a problem. Yes, our generation was raised on pluralism. I don't see that as a bad thing. We were raised on a set of ethics in respecting one another and "political correctness" is not a problem. If complaining about not being able to say whatever you want whenever you want is a problem for you, maybe educate yourself instead of criticizing a generation of compassionate people for not being rude, or in his words using "political correctness".

By reading further down the article, I can tell the author is out of touch with our generation. He claims that we have issues in expressing our opinions and our taste. I don't know about you but I have never met a millennial that doesn't express their opinions. He discusses in the third part that we might be afraid of condemning other cultures from actions we don't agree with because that wouldn't be "embracing the difference", which is what pluralism suggests. Im sorry but everyone is capable of expressing how they feel about something. Hell, Im a millennial vegan liberal, I don't shy away from my opinions just because it might not be embracing the difference, and neither do other millennials of different view points. I think the person who wrote this article needs to resurvey his fellow millennials better because the conclusions he drew about our generation are flawed.

Quotidian Proposal

For my Quotidian project I want to create sarcastic twists to fashion and commercial photography. Everything about this kind of advertising is very clean, neat, and serious. I want to put a twist on this stuff with my sarcastic sense of humor. I like things to be unique or funny so that's what I want to bring to this very fashion forward sense of photography. I would work in some photography and some watercolor sketches. I feel this is a creative way for me to express myself and my sense of humor. I'm inspired by Erwin Wurm. His pieces all have a sense of humor around them, and that's what I want to bring to my work.

10. There once was a little gray cat. He wore a little red bow tie and a tiny top hat. He used to walk around the neighborhood, like a boss, and had mad respect from all the other animals in the neighborhood. Why, you may ask. I dont know, he was a cat and you ask for a story so here you go. You got a very short story about an awsome cat. I mean its not quite five lines, but I bought you a latte so I think this is good enough. Im tired so im done. (*Drops Mic*) (*Walks off stage*) Now its a five line story.😎
